The Amarillo Botanical Gardens features a recently constructed tropical conservatory which showcases a flourishing indoor collection of exotic plants. Open year round, the conservatory creates a spectacular backdrop to the surrounding four acres of seasonal landscape. Explore the diverse natural beauty of numerous outdoor themed plantings which include Japanese, fragrance, xeric and butterfly gardens. Directions
The
Amarillo Botanical Gardens is located north of I-40 in the Harrington Regional Medical Center, down the street from the Discovery Center. Take the Coulter Street exit
(#65) off I-40 going north. Turn right on Wallace, right on Hagy and left on Streit. The botanical gardens will be on the left hand side. Free parking is available.

Docent Tours
- Guided tours are available during regular business hours by appointment only. A minimum of one-week’s notice is required to schedule a tour with a garden docent. Tours are free with paid gate admission. For more information contact: abg@amarillobotanicalgardens.org or call 806-352-6513.
Events and Exhibits
- A seasonal schedule of ongoing events makes each trip to the botanical gardens new! Don’t miss the popular Music in the Gardens Thursday evenings June, July and August as well as the annual GardenFest event the first weekend in May. Visit the Calendar for a full listing of upcoming events.
Photo Policy
- Schedule your next professional photography session at the botanical gardens for one- of- a- kind photos! Outdoor seasonal color combined with the indoor tropical conservatory offer a year round backdrop for all special occasion photos. Call 806-352-6513 to make a reservation. All photography is subject to the following guidelines and restrictions.
Photography Guidelines
- With a paid admission, informal photos for personal use shot with a hand held camera may be taken throughout the gardens and conservatory during regular business hours.
- Professional/Commercial photography occurring during regular business hours requires a $75 fee. After hours photo sessions are $125. After hours photo sessions are only available with a pre-approved appointment with a botanical gardens representative.
Professional/commercial photography refers to one or more of the following:
- A professional/amateur photographer has been secured by a client
- The resulting prints of the photo shoot will be used and or sold in a professional manner (posted on the Web, used in artwork, to advertise services, etc)
- A posed photography session
- Photography that involves props, additional equipment and or a change of clothing
Video and Film shoots
- A $250 fee applies. After hours sessions ($325) are only available with a pre-approved appointment with a botanical gardens representative.
Restrictions
- An appointment for informal and professional photography is not necessary, but we suggest you call ahead to confirm our business hours.
- Video and Film shoots as well as after hours professional photography sessions require an appointment.
- Professional photo sessions are limited to 1.5 hours.
- Do not enter flowerbeds, mulched areas or water and /or plant displays. Stay on pathways and turf areas. Plants, containers, benches, mulch and all other items in the gardens cannot be damaged, disturbed or moved. Do not block access, entrances, pathways or other garden areas from the visiting public.
- Failing to follow the photography policies or the taking of inappropriate pictures will result in the termination of the photo session with no monies refunded.
