Our Education Team strives to provide an enjoyable learning experience for students and their teachers. Our volunteers are experienced and trained in the subjects we offer. To ensure our mission goals are met, we have provided the following guidelines for the 2017-2018 school year:
Class Days: Classes offered Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Subject Offerings: Click on the below classes to see an introduction Power Point presentation to the courses offered.
Lesson Descriptions: Each visit to the Gardens will include a tour of the gardens and conservatory and a brief lesson on a topic, including an activity. Activities may consist of one or two of the following:
- Making a craft
- Creating a terrarium
- Planting Seeds
- A song, dramatic play, or game
- A book or poem
Fees: Guided tours, program, etc.: $2.50 per school age child Pre-K through 12th grade. Accompanying teachers are free.
Reservations: Required for all classes and tours. To check the availability calendar or receive further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. A final headcount for class attendees is required a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment.
Cancellations/missed appointments: Our classes are extremely popular. Classes needing to cancel, or those unable to attend their scheduled appointment for any reason must cancel 48 hours in advance or will be responsible for payment for the reserved number of class attendees.
WOWW: We are a participant in the Window on a Wider World. Any WOWW affiliated schools must schedule through their WOWW representative.
